Do What You Love and, Love What You Do!

Let me fill you in on some of the things I did today. I know many of you don't care, but it will help me to drive a point across.

I re-recorded a song that I already have a good version of. That's really about all I did today. I know it sounds pretty lame, and to be honest it kind of is, but it needed to be done. I like to compare and contrast some of the things that I've been doing, to make sure that they sound good. lol

The real point here is, that I do what I love. That's what I believe you guys should do as well. I definitely don't want to make things over complicated in this blog, but I do want to show that you can provide value for people by doing what you love.

My problem is, that I get lost on focus. You can probably tell, as this blog post is all over the place. It doesn't really matter though, because I love it! I love writing, as well as making music, and I want to show you how to make a living doing whatever it is that you love as well.

I've been pretty persistant about what I do, and I feel that it's really the only way to get anything done. I want to give you (my loyal readers) something that you can't get with any other blog. I'll let you know more, as soon as I have a fully developed plan.

For right now though, I'm going to keep releasing videos. If there's anything that you think that I can improve upon, whether it be my music, my writing style, my subject matter, anything, please let me know. Contrary to popular belief, criticism is a good thing!

The First Step

They say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. I may have paraphrased that, but you get the gist. I happen to believe that the first step, is to have a vision as to where you're going.

My vision is, that in five years I will be a professional blogger/marketer of my own music. Basically a professional online entertainer of sorts. Hopefully, I won't be quite as poor as I am today, but even if I am, I'll do just about anything to keep from having a real job.

A big part of why I'm doing this is to show people that you don't have to work at a job that you hate to survive. Times have changed! You can have fun with your life, whether you believe it or not.

I know that setting mini-goals that lead the way will be the most rewarding path to take, and with that in mind, my first mini-goal is to post 2 music videos a day to Youtube for the next 10 days. One cover song, and one original. I intend to save my best songs for last, as I build up traffic to my blog here. It will be a long and arduous process, yet one that I will enjoy. Hopefully other people will see that it is possible to be a professional blogger and or musician, and not be a nasty homeless dude.

Wish me luck!

Hello

Hello everyone. I realize that this is my first post, and that as such, it sets the tone for the rest of the blog, so I really don't want to fuck it up!

In case you stumbled here by accident, this blog is about my personal journey into making a living doing something that I love. Therefore, my main focus will be music.

I realize that in order to make a living off of the music that I write, that I must have multiple streams of income. A bunch of little things if you will. I think it would be pretty cool if a decent portion of this income came from my earnings on Google Adsense. Though to be honest, the most that I've made with adsense so far would be about $3.00. Enough to buy a cup of coffee, but unfortunately not a scone. Scones are expensive!!!!

I recently finnished my new cd, and tomorrow is when I'm going to start with the marketing. I don't know about you, but when I think about marketing, I think about the underpants gnomes.

Once I find out step two, I will let you know!

Share The Love. :)
