Alright, so I got a new cd made, and there are a few songs on it that I believe really stand out, like in a good way. I'd just like to say that the number one thing that keeps anyone from doing what they want to do in life, is fear.
I'm actually afraid that if I send my music out there, that no one will like it, and that if no one likes it, I won't get paid. I need money to eat! Even if I have a novelty hit like Rebecca Black, I think I could live off of the income from that.
I don't know where to send my music to either. I've read some bad things about Tunecore, where as soon as you start making the big money, IE $1000 or more, that they freeze your account, and refuse to pay you. I don't want anything like that. Although, their service sounds pretty nice from the outside. I'm sceptical.
I don't want to sound concieted like my songs are going to make me rich beyond my wildest dreams, but on the same note, what if they are somewhat popular, and the company that I'm dealing with isn't to fond of paying?
I've been working with bandcamp, and they seem to pay. The only problem is that I need to market my music. I have no idea how to do that. I think this blog should help alot, but as you may well know, there isn't as much focus here as I think there should be. So, I'm a bit weary that I won't have much of a fan base for this blog.
I will however, go ahead and put my cd for sale here at the bottom. Just tell me what you guys think.
