Proper marketing of anything (including music) is always defined by a clear, and reachable goal. I probably don't even have to mention this, but I don't have a very clear goal.
I would like to say that it would be pretty nice to be well known, but in stating that, being "well known" is entirely in the eyes of the indivdual. For me, I suppose that would mean having a minimum of 2000 people a day view my blog page. Right now however, I'm pretty lucky if I have 9.
The real question here is, how do I turn 9 into 2000? I thought maybe Youtube would be at least part of the answer. Now I'm starting to think that I'm wrong. It's definitely going to be a combination of little things. Consistancy will be a big portion of the puzzle. I know I'm consistant in what I write, but when it comes to videos? Not so much.
Schedules keep consistancy. I don't want to be that nerd who plans his life according to a bunch of crap that will never get done, but I do feel like there needs to be a balance. Reminders to help clarify your goal, but don't make it something that will bring you down. It's like setting your sights just in front of the finnish line, and knowing that "If I can make it to this point, then there's no reason that I shouldn't make it to the finnish line."
