As I promised yesterday, this post is all about visualization. Let me just start by saying what visualization is not. Visualization is not actually seeing something, then doing it. We're not monkeys!
It is the use of imagination. Every morning when I wake up, I spend about 5 minutes thinking about what my day ought to be like. If I don't do this, I feel like I'd be bored out of my mind! But seriously, It's the only thing that's keeping me sane right now. Thinking about how what I do today helps me reach my goal of making a living as a musician, keeps me motivated.
It's like building a bridge. Yes I have a blueprint, but as far as actual building, this is something that needs to be done little by little. Piece by piece. I'm not saying that you should give yourself prep talks every second of every day or anything like that, but it is ok to take a few minutes in the morning to think.
I used to go through my days like a kite, just floating wherever the wind takes me. Which was all fine and dandy, when I didn't have goals, and passions. Nowadays though, I'm starting to think that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" if you know what I mean. There are some things worth fighting for, but as with anything, you have to pick and choose your battles. I'll let you know how things work out with my "visualization" method. So far though, things are turning out peachy.
